Dr. Vera brings a broad background in podiatric medicine and surgery to his practice. He began his academic career at California State University, Northridge, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and later received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the California School of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University.
He completed his postgraduate residency at UCLA, training across Olive View–UCLA Medical Center, the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, and Kaiser Permanente Woodland Hills Medical Center. These experiences exposed him to a wide range of patient needs and helped shape his approach to both medical and surgical foot and ankle care.
His clinical interests include wound management, diabetic limb salvage, foot and ankle trauma, and reconstructive forefoot procedures such as bunion and hammer toe correction. He also treats common and complex foot and ankle conditions, tailoring care to each patient’s goals, lifestyle, and overall health.
Dr. Vera believes effective treatment begins with listening. He takes time to explain diagnoses and options clearly so patients can participate confidently in decisions about their care. His goal is to help patients stay active, preserve mobility, and return to the activities that matter most to them. Fluent in Spanish, he is committed to communicating clearly with patients and families from diverse backgrounds.
Away from the office, he enjoys playing soccer, trying new foods, road cycling, and spending time with his wife and their two cats.
